Not just for kids anymore!

Our youth programs have always been a hit, but then we wondered, “Why are kids having all the fun??” The New Hampshire Farm Museum is excited to announce that we are expanding our hands-on, farm-based experiences to the entire community! We now offer programs for adults to immerse themselves in the beauty of farm life while exploring New Hampshire’s history and agricultural heritage.

Our Community Programs are tailored to adults and are perfect for historical societies, book clubs, community centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior and retirement communities.

Olde Tyme Farm Day

CREATED FOR – This program is for adults • DATES – Offered May through October
PROGRAM SIZE – 15-20 • LENGTH – Approx. 3 hours (plus time for lunch)

Calling all adults who want to spend a day on the farm and travel back to farm days from yesteryear! This program has been specifically designed just for you!

Come explore our fifty plus acre property overlooking the Olde Stage Road as you take a tractor ride to visit our farm friendly animals! Our heritage breed Berkshire pigs, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, and ducks await.

Explore the 1830s Jones Barn and see the small carriage that Hollywood borrowed for the filming of the Daniel Day Lewis film, The Crucible. Tour the Historic Jones house and 1810 Tavern that visitors arriving by stagecoach once stayed in. Play parlor games in the 1863 parlor such as charades. (Did you know that Charles Dickens and Jane Austen both referred to charades in their writings?)

In the 1940s kitchen, visitors will have a chance to make homemade butter and then taste it on homemade cornbread. Yummy! Then finish your outing as you enter the Apple Cider Mill and learn how New England farmers always had an apple orchard to provide them with barrels of apple cider for their household consumption. Learn why apple cider was the most commonly consumed drink in Europe and the New World. Then sample some!
